Slobodne vinárstvo (Free Winery) represents an inseparable part of Majer Zemianske Sady, family farm established in 1912. Majer Zemianske Sady cultivates the fields and vineyards located in the hills above the river Váh, not far from town Hlohovec. In 2010, three young members of the family decided to re-establish the family wine-making tradition and started making wine in an original historic cellar. Currently, they farm 17 hectares of vineyards that are on an average 10 years old. They grow Sauvignon blanc, Pinot gris, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Devín, Riesling, blue Fränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alibernet. The name Slobodne vinárstvo (Free winery) signifies that freedom in its countless definitions and forms is way of life of these young winemakers.
