Champage Fleury was founded by Emil Fleury in 1895, and is located in the south region of Côte des Bar in picturesque village Courteron, ranking among the top Champagne wineries. This champagne house is the real pioneer of biodynamic production. The transformation to biodynamic methods of cultivating was made in 1989. Today, the winery cultivates 23 hectares of vineyards which makes it the biggest biodynamic producer in the whole champagne region. Chapagne Fleury uses for the wine making process small oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Beside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, one can also find Pinot blanc and Pinot gris in their vineyards. Some vineyards are only cultivated by horses and the best vintages are the ones that undergo long period maceration on lees, sometimes even 20 years. The winery uses its own wine yeast for secondary fermentation. This year the domaine will be in Prague represented by Morgane Fleury.
